Angry Connecting DBOX2 to PC - "cable unplugged"

I'm trying to connect my Nokia Dbox2 to my PC but in Network Connections it is saying "network cable unplugged". What do I have to configure to get the thing connected? Btw I am using an ethernet cable and have adjusted the netwrok speed to 10baseT. I've also deactivated all anti virus and firewall devices. Any help would be great. Ta

You need a cross over cable...this is slighly different to a standard ethernet cable...If you have a router then you can try and connect to it using 2 standard ethernet cables (1 from dbox into router...another from LAN card into router)

BadBoy, I tried going through the router but without any luck. I'll have a look around for a cross over cable. Is that all I need to do? No reconfig of Network Connections?

You can use your FTP client from a wireless computer over the router if you have connected your router to your dbox...Connect your dbox to the router and then turn your router and dbox on...on your dbox go to the network menu and note down your IP...on your wireless computer open up internet explorer and type in your dbox IP address in the address bar and hit return...If yweb opens up then you have successfully connected to your dbox...You can then continue with your FTP client...If this doesnt work then...

Once you have got your cross over cable, configure your lan card connection by:

Start>Control Panel>Network Connections....Right Click on your card>Properties>Configure>Advanced>Speed & Duplex (change to 10 Full Mode)...

Go back to properties>Left click to highlight IP>Click on properties>Change the IP to your dbox IP + 1 (e.g. dbox IP = 192.168.0.2 so then your IP should be 192.168.0.3) and change the rest of the settings to the ones on your dbox network menu (subnet 255....etc.)
