Question No signal ....return to dealer - help !!

Hi guys - was watching eurovox max 2008 when my screen went blank and showed the "no signal" message. I turned off at the mains thinking it may jsut need a reset but when I turned back on got another message along lines of "error return to dealer". Has anybody come across this before on Eurovox max 08 (bought July 2007) ? Have read about capacitors blowing but not sure if this was just on older boxes, or maybe I just need to reflash firmware ? Any help appreciated.

if you take the top off with the mains lead off please make sure it's off, then look down on the mother board in the middle you will see a small micro switch with a black little button on top, press this for 30 secs, let go,do not put the top on be careful turn your wall socket off and plug in to the eurovox, then put the switch down on the plug...you may get it to start again or a firmware flash will or should do the trick....check capacitor c14 on your power supply for any liquid brown or raised on top, renew this if it is

This is a common problem m8 which has nothing to do with the capacitor, the box needs to be jtagged. It has been discussed many times here so a search will turn up the answers you need.

Mine is the same except, nothing comes up when the power is connected.

There are three capacitors that look as though brown liquid has come out (a bit like a burst battery)

any Ideas??

Can anbody advise a trustworthy fleabay seller who can supply the jtag equipment. Just to confirm I have Eurovox Max V 2008 - not sure if all jtags are the same ie for older boxes. Did read a thread about jtagging without need to solder etc just plug in adaptor thing and run two lots of software - can anybody confirm if this works ok. Cheers guys.

Thanks Ronster. Just had a look on fleabay, anybody know whats the difference between a buffered jtag and and an unbuffered one ? TMC's jtag is buffered and around £17.50 but there is also an unbuffered one for £8.00

If any of your m8s has a maxV too, you could always try this Copy 1 box to another
