Its an old one, but I figured as there will be users who will be moving to a Dreambox, and this guide would help them get with the basics of c/s, even though we cant discuss it in depth

Just now, I had a person PMing me about the basics

Heres to a 7 month bump. Sorry, if Ive annoyed some of the senior members, but I think it could help some of the newer members without the need to PM us lol

used quite a few FTP softwares over the years and Filezilla is the easiest one to use by far.

As all you need to do is :

install the software

Click File

Site manager

click new site

Enter the name of your STB as a rememberence etc

Port no 21

Host: LAN IP of the STB you wanna connect too

server type: FTP ( file transfer protocol)

Logon type : Normal

username: root (if u have a dreambox or itgate

Password: dreambox ( for itgate its left blank)

click on transfer setting type and select : '' Passive''

easy as ABC

P.S: DCC (dreambox control centre) is very easy to use as well.
