As i posted last night about the signal problem and i thought it had just been down to me moving the stand,as the signal was ok after i had re-jiggled the cable, this morning i have fired up the box again, and again i am having problems with the signal.
On some channels its at 98% and pixalted whilst on others its as low as 23% and no picture at all.I`ve been through the forum checking and rechecking and returning to the box to check, but to no avail. The box then comes back into life with a signal of 83% and works perfectly at that strength of signal. I`m now wondering whether me putting the box into standby whilst it isn`t being used is throwing something out,but i would find that one hard to believe is causing problems.I can`t get out of my mind though that it was perfect for weeks since the upgrade, but since i moved the stand my problems arise, plus i would have thought that once you start to have weak signal problems it can`t right itself by just letting the box stand on for a while. It`s got the scenario of the old tellies waiting to warm up before you can get a clear picture. So peeps, any thoughts? Last edited by chancer; 20-05-08 at 09:35 AM. |

Why did you update with the 28/4/08 - this is a specific fix for ppl who experienced a signal of 8% after update to 18/4 firmware.
If you did not have this problem then re-flash your box with the 18/4/08 firmware. If you did have the 8% signal prob, try re-flash anyway with 18/4 and see if this sorts it. Last possibility is that your tuner has developed a fault

If you remember Lucky i was the one that had the autoroll problem, and when i looked into it the firmware update hadn`t taken, which was why it didn`t autoroll,so i just went to one of the sticky s and downloaded an april firmware and put that on.So it never had the 18/4 firmware on it.
Strange though how it has worked ok until now with that firmware, this is what is throwing me.I`m still checking and double checking connections as i can`t get it out of my head that all was well until i moved the stand. I may well dig out an 18/4 update tho and throw that on it later and see how that performs. |
