sounds like the same thing that has happened to my Red vox.
I took the lid off and checked the capacitors, and compared them to another Red vox that is still working and can find no visiual difference. I've ordered a Jtag from ebay and will post any info I find when I've tried it. |

Jtagged last night and all seemed to be going well....
box came back to life so I don't think there's a problem with the capacitors. After completing the Jtagging the led display shows 0001, and the instructions say this is ok. I've connected back to the feed to re-scan the channels but I am not getting anything on the screen. Have I missed something... ps don't know if this makes a difference, but it is possible that the box is a clone. (row of green caps is missing) |

i am not 100 % sure on this hopefully one of the others on here will help but if you have jtagged it back to life wouldnt you need to put the firmware back on the box. use the blue clone firmware if you find out it is a fake red vox

I'm having a mare with this.....
Tried flashing on the PC using a null modem cable ( at least I think it's a null one but how do you tell), neither Voxer nor Dnupman can find the box, tried looking in device manager but don't really know what I'm looking for there. Gave up with the PC and tried to flash from Vox to Vox with the info from this thread Update old eurovox with another eurovox?? (thanks Lucky13 & racky29) but the screen stays on " 1. Program Download" and doesn't seem to pick up the faulty box. So the position I am in is... box was absolutely dead..nothing!! Jtagged it back to life 0000 showing on display and standby button working OK.. Cannot flash from PC for some reason.. Cannot copy box to box... Anyone Help???? |

Doesn't sound like you have a NULL MODEM cable. Unfortunately a null modem cable looks identical to a standard/straight through cable, the internal wiring is all that is different.
