Default Please help and advise on cable card issue

Hi Guys,

A friend has given me a spare Virgin Media card and box to use on my live cable feed at home.
The card is not active at the moment, how can i get this programmed to receive all channels?
I have read through the tutorials on here, but cannnot understand what program I should be using.

The box is a PACE, Model DI4001N, Part code 541-4807725.

A friend who was going to chip the card for me, but didn't, has written the following at the back:

1247****
FED8 **7A **** E4*D

What does the above mean? And can i get the white NTL printed card chipped? Or can i get another card and have it programmed? If so, what sort of a card would i required?

Anyone in the Midlands area who can help? I am in Coventry.
Any help on programming the card myself or further advise will be much much appreciated.
Thank you

It would be a good idea to edit your post ... you shouldn't really be showing them numbers out in the open on forums m8 ...

but for your reference ... the first set of numbers (starting with digit 12) are your IRD -- this is your box serial number

the second set of numbers (16 digits long) is your BK or BoxKey

Both of these numbers together identify your box.

With these numbers you can program any card (Funcard, Atmega163, Titanium 1 and 2, OPOS, and Original Smart Cards) ... in order for you to get the channels.

Depending on which route you take you will need a programmer (these can cost you from £5 to £50) you will need a card to program (cost between £5 to £25) ... you need to decide which route to take and then decide on the equipment

Hi Mysterious

I've created a guide for newbies (baby steps) the guide is for people who have their IRD and BK. and since you have them two numbers it should sort you out pretty quick

If you are interested PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you

PS. Delete your IRD and BK from the forum >> it is dangerous. be quick

Guys, thank you very much for the help and advise provided. I have edited my post to ensure the box details are not shown.

Ciwan, i have dropped you a message on the baby steps on how to program the card.
Thank you.

A guy from VM who comes to the gym progammed the card for me for £10 today. I have one problem now, I can't access movies channels if a 18 certificate movie is being shown. It asks for a PIN code, which i don't have.
Anyone know how or what the pin code should be for me to watch these chanels?
Thank you so much for the above help provided, appreciated.

Pin code is normally 0000 or 1234. If not you can go into the eng menu and change it.

if you cant change the pin m8, take the lid off and pull the red jumper, plug the box back in and goto engineers menu and change the pin then. dont worry about any other settings a 4001 box sets itself up
