how can i clear the history out of the address bar on a XP operating machione. when i go to the address bar and just hit a letter and it pops up freguent places. how can i delete these.

Hi,

I have Vista with Internet Explorer and it is something like, Internet Properties-->General-->>Browsing History-->> Delete.

Well, it's similar

On IExplorer 7 with XP, it's Tools->Internet Options-->General-->Browsing History-->Delete.

I use Firefox, dunno how you do it on that.

Well I was refering to IE since the post I quoted was talking about it if were going to get into the little details we could start naming all browsers that are out there opera, safari,green browser, maxthon browser and a few more aswell lol

For FF 2.0.0.6 it's Tools|Options under the Privacy tab - but this has varied somewhat in detail over the releases of FF

i go to tools ,internet options,then History and click to clear it and it does not clear it at all ...you can go back into the address bar at the top and just enter a letter and it brings up anything that you have been to that starts with that letter. I thought there might be a way to go into the c: drive and go to the history folder and delete it from there. I use to be able to go to Run, and enter history and bring it up that wayon 98 but XP you cannot. also use to bring up the Cache the same way.
