Not sure how to do the streaming because I don't do it, but To stream films to your box you'll need a crossover cable for the Ethernet port. You can use a straight cable if you go through a router. Theres a guide to everything out there by pt-1 that should sort you out.

Firs you need to set your dbox and pc to have the following ip address
IP FOR PC 192.168.0.101 IP 255.255.255.0 Subnet mask" box 192.168.0.1 DEFAULT GATEWAY IP FOR DBOX 192.168.0.100 IP 255.255.255.0 SUBNET 192.168.0.1 DEFAULT GATEWAY Mounting your Harddrive so that your Dbox can see it 1. Make sure your computer is set to the settings given in "First things first, Setting up the PC so that its ready to communicate with the Dbox" 2. Make sure your username on the pc has a password on it. If not then create one by going into control panel, user accounts, select your username then create a password. 3. Create a folder in your C: drive named "Dbox" then folders inside it called "Movies", "MP3" and "Pics" 4. Right click on each of the folders, including the "Dbox" one, then select "Sharing and Security" 5. Tick "Share this folder on the Network" and "Allow network users to change my files" then click "Ok" 6. Press "Dbox" on your remote. 7. Select "Settings" 8. Select "Network Settings" 9. Scroll to "Mount Network Volume" 10. Select the fist NFS: 11. Change "Type" to CIFS 12. Change "Server IP" to 192.168.0.101 13. Change "Directory Share" to "Dbox" 14. Change "local Directory" to /mnt 15. Mount on startup is optional 16. Mount Options are to be set to rw,soft, udp 17. Username is your windows username and password is the windows password 18. Select Mount Now. This information is from a txt I used to set this up hope it helps |

first things first connect dbox to pc (i'll assume os is xp) PC Setup: Now would be a good time to create a ‘System Restore Point’ on your PC, (as you will have probably have to change the IP settings, to something different from your internet settings). Unplug your internet connection NOW to avoid any conflicts. Switch OFF all firewalls and antivirus on your PC (and make sure windows XP built in firewall is OFF) 2. Power on the TV and DBox, but don’t hook it up to your PC yet. Using the remote control, press DBOX > SETTINGS > NETWORK Take a note of the DBox network settings (this is an example only) IP-Address 192.168.0.3 Net Mask 255.255.255.0 Broadcast 192.168.0.255 Def Gateway 192.168.0.2 Name Server 192.168.0.2 3. On the PC go to START BUTTON > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL and open the NETWORK CONNECTIONS Right-click the network card (it may say Local Area Connection), and select PROPERTIES > CONFIGURE > ADVANCED tab Highlight the ‘Connection Type’ (in the left window), and in the right ‘Value window there is a drop down menu (it will probably currently say automode) Change the Value to 10 full mode then OK (most people say half duplex, mine is left on auto) Again, right-click the same connection, and go back into the PROPERTIES of the network card There is a List of items in the first window (you may need to scroll down further) Left-click on internet protocol, when it is highlighted, click the PROPERTIES button. Select the ‘Use the following IP address’ Enter the settings, as you seen it on your DBox, except the IP address will be one digit less of the last number (eg. 192.168.0.3 on DBox, so use 192.168.0.2 on your PC) OK these settings. 4. Connect the RJ45 cable between PC and DBox (linking them together) that's to link ur pc ./ dbox mind u if it's only films from ur pc to ur telly y dont u use a direct link from pc to tv....got a suitable graphics card ie tv-out (s-video) and red/white audio cables all into a scart adaptor.
