yip connect ur blackcat cable, power up the modem then start up blackcat straight away in the console window u'll see manufacturer: broadcom part :bmc 3348,if u don't see it ur blackcat cable could be pluged in the wrong way so turn it round or u haven't bridged it correctly or the 10 pin header aint rite. if all is ok go to options at the top and uncheck verify data then go to the flash tab and hit detect, once u do the flash info will come up then click write all browse to the 13.5full.stealt.bin and click it.....u should be fine because thats al there is to it,if ur in an x TW area remember and change the annex to B because the first time i did a 200 i never knew about it and it stummped me for 4 days lol.
p.s i done an ambit 120 about 2 weeks ago and gave it a 20meg config,i know there only ment to be 4-5 meg tops but i went to speedtest it straight away and hit 8.5 meg with it,they could have done some 1 that was just looking for a basic connection. |

To answer your other question yes the 200s & upwards are a lot better for the specs and also easy to unbrick to if they take the "alex update". |

nothing special i don't do it through tftp or solarwinds i blackcat it back to factory defaults and that does the trick.write the bootloader to 0x00 and then hit write all and i use the IMH-A120-2.40.3212-shelled.bin,then go in throught the 232 and put the settings in.and while i'm here i want to correct the above post, spoke to ma mate about this the day and he reminded me it wasn't 8.5 meg it was 7.5 but even at that still come in handy to some 1 and like i said up untill that point i had been led to believe that they wouldn't do anything more than 4-5 tops. |

Wow that sounds bad sounds like your iron is applying a lot of heat for a long period of time try to just tack it on quickly instead of holding the heat there tin your jump wire first & use some flux to make it stick quicker.
There is 2 points left you can use on the bottom of the board if you mess them up you might as well bin it i have a little pic of the points not the best pic but its good enough to see the points you need. Look close at the pic you can see 2 red marks on the points you can use. Hope that's of help to you it's the best i can suggest for your problem. Good luck m8.

hey lads use rosin flux on the pads befor you solder youll find the solder flows quicker and saves you time and effort in the long run its in a pen and costs from 4 - 8 quid, maplins sells it as well, good investment for repeat modem work..
