My Ambit200 Jtag Points have been Soldered!!!

I Open up my Ambit 120, 200 and find that the Jtag Points have been Soldered, And when i try to desolder them put the jtag cable on, they go all knackered and the blackcat software wont pick up the Chip to re-flash it, i put the 10 pin header on but dont pick up, ive even tryed to put the NON SOLDER Pin headers on still no luck, so is their an easier way to put a 10 pin header on these modems that have got solder in the JTAG Points??

with the 120 u solder the 10 piun hearer on the other side of the board and the 200 you need to bridge across 1 of the resistors before it will pick up the chip

These pics should help you pin point the resistor solder points that need joining up so bc can see the chip correctly.

cant find the R218 on My Ambit 100/120?? Where else could it be? Although i have put a 10 Pin header on it still WONT WORK??

thats not what ur lookin for ...it's 2 points just to the right of it just under the 10 pin header as the pic shows u,it's not a risistor just 2 points u have to bridge.altho i've seen some tuts where they tell u to bridge across the rn200 but theres no need

The solder point in the pictures are for the Ambit 200.

If your trying to flash the older Ambit 100 then i would stop as they are pretty much scrap and if it did go online you would be lucky to get 2MB from it.

As for the 120 you might get lucky and get that online with the right tut and files or just do a mac swap with the max 232 but doing the mac swap way is not as good as it seems because when the modem goes online it will lock you out of the settings so you need to make sure the Mac you use is good & solid.

Just like to say thanks, for that info.. Min spec modems then are the AMBIT200's on wards??

already ended up Throwing 3 of the 120's and 100's away, cause could'nt get it to read the Jtag cable, and ending up ******* up the Chip to lift it..

also for the Blackcat Cable to pick the Chip up, does it have to be Connected to the Power Supplie??
