Default A very newbie question, plz advise

Hi Guys,

I plan to buy a Technomate receiver to connect to the SKY dish my bro has at his new house. This dish currently points at 28.2E for Sky tv.

My question is, once the box is 'patched' will it pick up any of the encypted channels from Sky?

My initial idea is to move the Satellite to 13E for Hotbird channels. I will be able to pick up many FTA channels, but once the box is 'patched' will this pick up more channels and some encypted channels on 13E?

By having the box 'patched' will i receive many more channels on 13E or 28.2E?
Your help will be much much appreciated.
Thanks.

You will only receive FTA channels on 28.2E, No S*y channels.
On 13E you can currently get TPS and Polsat packages.
Other packages currently available with a patched receiver are Premiere 19E and Digi TV 1W.

The Darkbox will apparently pick up the encrypted channels from Sky.

But you have to subscribe.

Thanks guys for the advise, much appreciated.

So i guess 13E via SKY dish to receive more channels is better off?
Do they have any good sports channel via the 'patched' box on 13E?

Thanks

A better option would be to get another dish so that you could pick up both 13E and 19E on one dish, with a monoblock, even better still a much larger motorised dish.
