Q. Does anyone know there the latest firmware is for the Starview PVR/The Box PVR?? The were currently developing it - however, the forum which supported it no longer allows cable chat?? Q. Can anyone please shed some light on this?? DMann Last edited by DMann; 23-05-08 at 01:33 PM. |

Man - you are a legend. Thanks for replying. Q. Is there any chance of getting any firmware updates (even the above one mentioned) for the Starview PVR/The Box PVR on the ChatterBox.cc toolbar?? Also, do you know when development will continue, or how far away they are from completion of new firmware. I know tonnes of people have already bombarded you with these questions. Apologies in advance. DMann ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lets just say due to recent changes things have been put on hold for a bit. I have asked the question and to be honest things are up in the air at the moment.
If there are any new firmware developements I am sure we can have them make there way to you and others. I have sent you the firmware listed above. To use it just follow either method below: How to Update PVR Firmware There are two methods to upgrade PVR Firmware as below: 1. USB Download 2. Serial Download. 1. USB Download 1) Connect PC & STB with USB Cable 2) Main Menu-> Select ‘HDD Mode Change PVR’-> Press ‘0000’ on the RCU ( Showed ‘HDD Mode Change PC’ ) 3) In PC a) Showed new Local Disk on the PC ( ‘F:W’ or ‘E:W’ ) b) Copy new Firmware in the Local Disk. 4) Remove the USB Cable 5) Main Menu-> Select “HDD Mode Change PC”-> Press “0000” on the RCU Once “HDD Mode Change PVR”, STB is automatically re-boot. 6) Main Menu-> ‘Select HDD Interface’ ->’Select Upgrade from HDD’ Select ‘new firmware -> Press ‘0000’ on the RCU 7) Automatically upgraded & re-boot. 2. Serial Download 1) Connect PC & STB with Serial Cable 2) Off & On with A/C Power on the rear panel. 3) Once display ‘ on ’ on the front panel, Press ‘ OK->Exit->OK->Exit->OK->Exit ’ on the RCU. 4) Display ‘B-30 or B-31’ ( ready to download message ) on the front panel. 5) Access the PVR Loader and then select the firmware bin file. 6) Download. 7) Wait to complete and Reboot. Press Menu , parental control , then Info + 2007 and you should now see the EMU and make sure its ON. Exit to Sly Sports and let it update. Last edited by satsmo; 23-05-08 at 06:32 PM. All.
Thanks for all your help. I have the latest firmware version (from Oct 2007). I just wanted to make sure the "Starview PVR/The Box PVR" software was not forgotten. I know there's loads of people waiting for this software. I also think that the people who sell these things - will increase sales 10 fold when word is out that the firmware is released. Alot of my peers are holding back for this reason. Thanks again everyone: DMann Last edited by DMann; 24-05-08 at 07:07 AM. |

Just out of interest
What seems to be the hold up with the new firmware? And just as possibilities what new features or possiblilites could be included as part of the firmware. This is purely out of interest I dont want people to think that responses are certain to be included etc |
