Sounds like the C11 cap is gone, have a look at Martin's post here Starview Clone - Intermittent Problems all the info you need to get sorted is in the photo.

yes you will have to take the top of box and replace cap if you are not sure take it to a tv repair shop with the instructions but its not hard to do it yourself
