Default settings in hyper terminal

Hi all, ive just started looking into modifying an ambit 250. Ive looked around for the Haynes guide but, no joy. Anyhow, i got myself a max232 cable along with the files i believe i need to proceed and a tutorial. The problem i'm having at the moment is that when i connect the modem via the max lead and then run the tft proggy then hyper terminal i get nothing. ive followed the tut to the letter and the only thing i can think of is that maybe i have a setting wrong somewhere, so if anyone can help i would be grateful. thanks in advance.
