- Spyware/Trojan Software Help Needed -

Hi,

Currently my PC/Laptop has the following installed:-

Avast! Professional
Ad-Aware 2008 (Beta)
Spybot
Windows Defender

Im not sure if this is still adequate now so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should change (if anything).

Try Spy Emergency 2008 ( free ) and Trojan remover (30 day free trial ).
You can't lose.

For Spyware/Trojan i think the best software would be Bitdefender - i personally use this software and it really good

if you have norton on your system, and update it frequently, it does pretty much everything for you. sometimes, most people just forget to update - and that's what the viruses are banking on

I also agree with zd brink and if up update your security software frequently and then there are less chances of gettin hit by the viruse or other things

Hey thanks for the advice.

I downloaded Trojan remover and I kinda like that it does a quick scan when I start up my pc.....i'm tempted to buy it unless I can find other means to get it for free

I'm going to look into bitdefender and maybe a new firewall.

Hiroki, thanks for starting this thread. The reason i joined this forum is to learn of new software programs to make my computing easier. And i definitely like to hear about free programs.

i dont really think you should choose them unless they completely protect your pc up to the standards that they should there is a thread called "some anti-virus programs" on the pc software section and that has lots of anti-virus and also spyware that will help to protect your pc.

if i was to choose one to help protect against spyware then it would have to be Spybot-Search and Destroy would be better to use for all the spyware you need to get rid of for trojan horses and all of them viruses and you dont have to pay for it. its Completely Free to download and easy to use all you do is download it then install it and there you have spybot on your pc.

You should always have at least either a Anti-Virus software to protect your pc or a Firewall would also be a good idea to use and spyware such as spybot coz you never know when those viruses will end up getting on your pc if you dont protect your pc.

those firewalls, spyware such as spybot and a firewall such as firefox are completely free and there are sites on the some anti-programs thread where you can download most of them from.

I only made this topic because I felt that I was becoming a bit lazy when it came to pc protection but from asking around I seem to have it right but hey there is no harm in trying new things and this thread has helped me with new software to try and prompted me into looking at what I can do with the software I have installed including finding out how to run spybot all the time in the background
