Default Problem channels - coming and going

Hi all
Please can I have some advise on how to recover problem channels?

There is on particular channel which is the bane of my life! I want to keep the channel, but

- sometimes I have it, then lose it
- sometimes an autoscan finds it, sometimes not

I checked what frequency it was on, then did a manual scan of that frequency (incase it had been moved slightly) but no luck. It found lots of the meaningless "TV Ch 5" etc, and when I when back to the menu, the channel name had been replaced by one of these.

Bah!

Any help greatly appreciated. I had thought of downloading someone else's channel list, and see if that worked?

Cheers

This does happen unfortunately, had it myself, particularly with Sky screen1 and 2, I put it down to local conditions with reception, dont think there is anything more you can do than you are already doing ......

One of mine disapeared , and when I scanned I found it in the "TV CH " group, I renamed it and put it back in favorites

Thank you for commenting guys.

Its strange - the channel worked perfectly well at my last home (same area as my new one - one street away) but when I moved it disappeared.

I recently got it back, but now sometimes it works fine, sometimes works but with a blocky picture and sometimes doesn't work at all (even though it still displays program titles).

I know its churlish to complain, lol, but Id love to have it sorted finally.

I can see the signal strength jump about - from 20-30% (red) up to 70-80% (green). The other channels stay strong once a signal is found, but this one tends to jump about. Would something like a signal booster help?

What is all the "TV CH" channels about? Some of these are just blank, some are duplicate channels etc - whats all that about?

I was going to delete them, but maybe not if sometimes things "show up" amongst them.

Thanks!

These "local conditions" can differ in just a few yards, ie what you can get your next door neighbour might not for some reason...its just there, you have to accept it like it or not as for the TVCh's I put it down to the fact the Eurovoxes have pretty sensitive tuners and pick up anything thats out there, and if it doesnt know what it is it puts them under a TVCh heading ...thats just my thoughts on the matter, whether there is a technical reason for it I dont know

You get all sorts of surprises sometimes when you find what is behind some of the TVCh headings ....

I was going to delete mine when I first scanned as at first glance they just appeared to be duplicates, some were, but there were channels behind some of them.

the "tv ch "are spare channels cable companies use to pipe programs like on demand and catch up tv.if you get picture/sound breakup and your signal is in the 80 + marker, try a variable attenuator to reduce the signal strength .this might sort out the signal variation which will affect the channels you recieve when you scan.
