Default Laptop wireless connection problem

Hi everyone,
I have a Toshiba M70 with XP home edition.Untill recently I had no trouble connecting wirelessly through my Netgear router to the internet. Now every time I startup the system, although it shows it has connected to the inertnet but it isn't & I have to run Windows network dignostics every time which makes it work.Is there anyway I can fix it???
Needs help ASAP please.Thanks

Mine occasionally does this, and I find that unplugging the router and plugging it back in again gets it going again.

there are many things that are to fix it:
1. check connections in back of router are connected properly and are not faulty
2.check the 2 ariels on top of the router are straight because the signals might be losing connection or something.
3.try unplugging then reconnect it all and then see how it goes by putting the installion disk in to your laptop or pc and check by that to see if it is connected correctly.
4. and finally check that everything on your router is secure and connected correctly and your 2 ariels are not faulty in anyway.
i forgot to add Try and reset your router.

You could also try getting the router to assign you a static IP. Need to set this both in Windows and in your router settings.
