There are 2 chips at the back that come off easy with a soldering iron, they are R417 and R416 located right next to the tuner.

Look to the rear of the main board and slightly to the right of where the cable feed imputs the rear of the box.
There are two ressisters sat side by side that are clearly labeled R417 & R416.

Cut these and robert is now your parents sibling!

You need to check this has been done sucsessfully by going into settings...technical stuff and confirm that your return path is off.
Oh and there should now be an irritating flashing green LED on the front display pannel. I have a way or turning this off but thats another story!

Go on then....

Remove the front panel and it's ribbon from the main board.

Look at the circuit board for the front panel and find the three legged chip (or what ever it is) clearly labeled Q7 and gently cut the lower right leg only (ie the leg that is about 2mm above and to the right of the 7 in Q7).

I put a piece with photos in the download section sometime last year mate, a very simple mod to save the irritating LED!

do you not mean a 2110?

if you do, just remove the caps in the same place as previously numbered board, match it up with how it looks.
