Default V+ box question

Hello all, the net id on my v+ is wrong, i'm in pure area. If i replace the 512 chip with a blank one, will this set the net id to 09999 then all i need to do is connect to feed and let it update? Will the blank chip need any programming done to it with a programmer or do i have to buy a chip programmer too? All help is greatly appriciated, thank you.

Thanks for you help, i think i understand now. I will replace the 512 chip with a new blank chip. So i don't need to purchase a 512 chip programmer? Because all i need to do is solder the new chip on, that will set to net id to 09999. Then i set net id using funcard/atmega. correct?

So does the programmer do the same thing as the funcard/atmega card does to set the net id to the chip?

if your in pure replacing the chip then connecting a feed should sort it for you. if your in tw or c&w then a atmega card or programmer is needed
