Question Starview 3 "The Box Super" random reboot issue

Hi. I have the box super and it has this issue where it randomly reboots. Iv'e tried it on all 3 firmware and it happens on all of them. I only does it in the odd time but its Annoying. Other people have the problem too. Does anyone know when there will be a way to fix this?

Thumbs down Re: Starview 3 "The Box Super" random reboot issue

Apparantly it's quite common place for the boxes to reboot randomly (not acceptable)

I also tried all firmwares to no avail

This rebooting has nothing to do with overheating as i put cooling fans around the box and it still reset at random.

I'm unable to find a pattern concerning the reseting it seems to be completly random.

it freezes 10 seconds before it reboots but tv still plays so if you're in epg nothing will happen no matter what you press then it reboots.

The way I see this rebooting problem is this, the new FW 7.9 and 8 is still causing boxes to reboot so obviously this is a very big problem with these starview 3 boxes and it looks like this problem is not goig to be solved until the best boffin men on these boxes can sort this bad problem out, I bought 4 at £65 each, I kept one for myself in the bedroom but I got sick of the rebooting and losing channels of which manual scan doesn't always pull them back in so I sold them to friends and only way is doing a full scan, this is a pain doing full scan cos you lose all your fav channels you make up and have to start doing favs again which can take a long time, I am not calling the starview 3 but to be honest I use a Arnet KV and I get these at the same price has the box 3 at £65 each and when the Arnet KV went down in April like all other boxes the FW for the KV was out the day after the April problem with updating issue, since then.
The KV is in my opinion the best box going, never loses channels with it's update facility when in standby mode, brilliant EPG and picture quality, maybe a fix will come out for the box 3 super BUT when, my advice is get the Arnet Kryptview at around £65 and you will have no problems because these are brilliant boxes.

One last point is this, I say when will this reboot issue be sorted, it could well be that it won't so my advice is a KV or Eurobox until if and when a propper fix comes out for the box, I'm not that optamistic that a fix will be out in a hurry.
