Sagem dbox2 + Kein System

Heya,

Trying to get a little help, iv got me a Sagem DBOX2 unit, which was running (UNERWÜNSCHTER INHALT, Anm. d. Forenbetreibers), but about a month ago lost all the channels, well instead of just rescanning and trying to recover these, i thought it would be a good time to try updating, which iv done before, but this time forgot to unpack the image file from the zip archive (yea, durr) well i loaded the file into the tmp folder on the dbox over FTP and then ran the software update through the DBOX menu on the television... it said successfully imaged (ud think the thing would be smart enough to at least check the image file was an image file before using it)...

But as u may guess, when i rebooted the box i got a blank screen and a message on the front of the dbox saying 'kein system'... i need some help trying to load an OS back onto this box asap, anyone who can help, id be much appreciated !

hi there,
had this problem myself about a month ago, the only way around it is to use IFA (image flashing assistant) to reload an image via a xover cable. IFA is available from the bigmaq toolbar. Hopefully you know the IP address of the box otherwise you may be stuck!!
Just install the software, point it towards your required image, hit go, then turn on your dbox.

just use IFA no need to know the ip of box as ifa sets its own just remember to set netcard to a static ip

okay, iv tried using IFA from two machines now, every time the box just sits their for a few seconds then says 'kein system' and does nothing else... according to others its supposed to say flashing, but never seems to get there !

I get the same and i am using a null modem cable

use must be using the wrong image.you will need to check to see how many chips your box has a 1 chip box or a 2 chip box and flash the correct image on the box

guys the only way i can flash my boxes using ifa is by using a null modem and a xcrossover cable....+ it took me many many maany many tries:P so before u go smashing ure box or head against the wall try using both cables>

i think kein means clean,have you turned all firewalls off including any anti virus firewalls,sounds like you have a firewall running to me and what window o/s are you using..

sometimes it takes me about 10 trys but you will get there in the end .open the flap and press the off and up arrow at the same time to keep rebooting it then pess connect on ifa

Yeah it works for me now i had to connect both the cross over and the null modem cable but even though i have updated to the latest Blade image when scanning i get all channels but when i try and watch anything bbc and the normal freeview channels work but skysports etc don't.
