i have a acer laptop which has vista home basic on it ive been having a few problems and deleted some files so i decided to use the acer recovery to put the laptop bk to the way it was when i bought it
The problem is after i selected the recovery option the laptop shutdown but the power lead was'nt in and the power run out . so now when i turn the laptop on all i get is a black screen with "REMOVE DISKS AND MEDIA AND PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART" is there anything i can do to get it working again ??? |

What is the make & model of the laptop?
Did you post an earlier thread about formatting your hard drive and that you might have deleted the partition holding the vista back up data? Are you getting the option to enter the BIOS before this message? Do you have a back up disk, or was it stored on a separate partition? You might have to contact acer and get a Vista home basic disk sent to you so that you can repair the system, unless you know anyone with a Vista Home Basic disk you can borrow then boot up from that and try the repair option. Usually there is a key you can press to start your computer from the back up that will give you the option of repairing or re-installing Vista, check acer.co.uk for a FAQ section. |

maybe you just have to put your recovery cd out of your drive!
it seems that it wants to boot from some drive (cd, hdd) that is not prepared to boot. you can change the boot priority in bios (your computer will tell you something like "press F2 to enter setup" to help you how to get into bios) |
