Just got me a new Technomate 9100 receiver and was wondering if I could plug is straight into my current TM 5400 via the loop though plug and still be able to move the dish?
Sure I've read that is is possible as long as the receiver not being used is in standby. Just want to check in case I damage anything ![]() |

The IF loop through is designed for another receiver to be connected to. So it should not cause any damage. You may have problems if the dish is not at the position the receiver last used was expecting it to be though. Might be a good idea to always send the dish to a certain satellite, before turning off.

It would be better to get a twin or quad lnb and feed the two receivers separately.
Ok you would only be able to move the dish using one receiver but the two receivers would be able to open different channels at the same time. Unfortunately the two channels would have to be from the same satellite.
