Default stuttering

hi ive had my box for around 3 years ow and its spot on or should i say was, since we had that power cut on tuesday that affected a lot of the country my box is stuttering the odd cheap thrown in and goes blocky for a couple of seconds ive tried most images am on blade quad at the moment, ive checked my connections and they seem good no stray wires but i have noticed that when i plug the cable in i get tiny static sparks between the cable and the socket.
any experts help me out there

Unplug the thing for about 10 mins and then start it up again and see if that helps. It may be that your tuner is fried though
