Dbox Sex!

attention was drawn to the soft ckinking of the bottle washed up against the rocks.Inside was a message."HE" was a young and virile dbox,fully trained in all the social skills.Whilst "SHE" once from the same background was now a shadow of her former self.Her only aquaintanses were the local villages.Her hope was to be joined to him so that through his strength and open chanels to society,She too might once again be fullfilled.Her only other option was to sell herself and go under the knife at E Bay!!THEY had been told by a wizend old soothsayer that i MIGHT be done,and the maiden saved...but how??The seremony was a closely guarded secret ,known only to the merchants of E Bay,who bled dry the common folk and became rich and powerfull.Is there one who will reveal the ritual seremony ,what wands and potions are needed,and renew the maid??

whatever she's smokin' it must be top notch.......or the clinkin' bottle once held the ambrous transluscent liquid distilled from water and malted barley that fires the throat when swallowed........or maybe she's got a broken dbox that she wants to know how to fix it or she's gonna flog it on fleabay....who knows??

Just wondered how to use an open dbox to repair a dbox that has been affected by freq changes.?

close enough.I payed someone on ebay for a new box when the freq changes made mine redundant.I was told i could use this box to repair the one that went down,but have no idea how.There are plenty of ebay sellers offering to fix my old box(they must be doing a roaring trade),so there it is.Any idea how theyr joined to affect a repair?Or is ebay repairs the only option.?

You dont need a new box to repair an old one because of key changes (the new box you bought will probably need fixing too). All you needed was to change the keys or get hold of the new rom files which do the job themselves and ftp them into your dbox.

Dont be paying someone on ebay or anyone for that matter to fix your box when its so easy to do (5 minute job).

Is your dbox on your network?
Do you know how to ftp to it?

you been ripped off by an unscrupulous seller, u don't need a 'fixed box' to repair a box or get the keys. all u need to do is flash a new img on the box. if ur happy with the fixed box and it is the same as the broken box ie. 1x or 2x chips then transfer the good box img to the other box....they MUST have the same number of chips though unless it's 'kein system' and u don't really want to go there.

so good box connected to pc (as we did in lesson 1) it's then dbox-service-img upgrade / backup - backup one partition - flash without bootloader. now open up your ftp app eg. flashfxp - once connected to the box look in the tmp folder there will be a mtd3 or mtd4 file (this is ur saved img) transfer it to ur pc - name and date it.

swop boxes and reverse procedure transfer saved img to tmp folder of box.....do the above commands on box remote except don't `backup one partition' instead 'flash one partition' u should see the img u renamed - the box should reboot and 'HE' and 'SHE' should once again be fullfilled......and live happily ever after, well untill nagra3 is rolled out....
