Question limited or no connectivity

Hi new member here so apologies if this is a topic covered by earlier threads!

I have a belkin modem/router wireless router which has worked fine up until now. The problem is that my Daughters laptop has stopped receiving/picking up the assigned ip address from the router and is allocating a 169... address and then coming up with the limited or no connectivity message.

I think the issue must be with the configuration of the laptop although I don't know what has prompted the change. All other PCs & PS3 still work fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

ps all running xp sp2

Cheers.

Dont let windoze do anything. Set up your network with manually assigned IPs and passwords. You may be getting a strong signal from another wireless network that is assigning a different IP to the laptop.
