Default cfg from TFTP how???

Hi, I can't find the way to connect to tftp to download cfg file.
I enter my mac in to dhcp force and see that tftp ip is 192.168.10.2, then change my ip to HFC IP and try to download the file with tftp client but don't work...
I can't ping 192.168.10.2 too.
Please help to make this work... I read all tutorials and try that but it's not working...
If any help this is what modem say while connecting on hyperterminal via max232:

Logging event: DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response.

Hi There,
Use a program called SMAC. It is an NIC MAC changer. Changing your NIC MAC doesn't allow the cable company to know your true MAC and itentity.

Mike.

Default Re: cfg from TFTP how???

I try that too, but stil nothing.
My modem IP is 10.122.0.191, and tftp and DHCP IP is 192.168.10.2
Comp IP when set to automatic is 87.116.190.206, gateway 87.116.190.1
And I don't know what to do... I try to change my IP to modems, or similar, and to similar to tftp, many combinations, but nothing...
PLEASE HELP, it's important to me!
Or is there way to read cfg from modem???
P.S. I can force modem to use another config, so modem get it, but why I can not?

Default Re: cfg from TFTP how???

Hi mate.

Anything 192.168.*.* is an internal IP, not an IP on the external (inter)network.

Unless you're trying to run a tftp server on your own network and use the modem to obtain it (strange thing to do), then your modem's tftp server IP is displaying incorrectly in DHCPforce. Maybe your ISP is trying to hide the IP to prevent cfg downloads?

You can confirm this by seeing your modem's internal IP is 192.168.100.1. It keeps this IP whether you have the cable feed connected or not. Your pc's IP is changing to 87.* when the modem has a successful connection as that is it's external IP, which will allow you to get webpages.

You need to find the correct TFTP IP for your area and specify that in your attempts to download the cfg.

Looking at those TLV's , at a guess you might try 89.216.3.0 for your tftp.

Failing that, you could try booting your modem disconnected from cable feed, then go to the console and run non-vol > docsis > dhcp_settings and see what it's got for your tftp IP in there.

cheers, fitz.

EDIT: OK yeah 89.216.3.0 is NOT your TFTP IP, but neither is 192.168.10.2, they're both IP masks for SNMP read/write access to your modem, and the ones below...192.168.0.0 and 10.0.0.0 are the public read only IP masks (if you don't know what i'm on about, ignore me). Just find your TFTP IP and you're away.
