Default newbie here needs help

hi my starview box keeps freezing then showing 0 on the front and rebooting any clues on how to fix please??

not sure what version it is it just says thebox on the front, i have looked and i think it is not a clone.

the box is starview 2 make sure you have correct software on. Sounds like bad flash try to download latest software again by turning off box bring up download on computer,Press download then turn on box this may take many attempts to do this is bad flash method.

More than likely the C11 capacitor is the problem. Martinf has a photo somewhere of how to change it. I could post how but the picture says it all.

Martin if you see this can you update the 10V to 16V as it is better, cheers.

i used a 16 v but that what came out i have been told not to go over a 16 v do not know how true this is ?
but mine has been fine for 4 months or so at the time of repair you could not get a 10v from maplins 16v works fine

I have always used 16 volt also. I have heard 25 volt is ok too but I will always stick with 16 volt. I would avoid 10 volt to prevent future problems.

hi i had a look inside the box, the cap you metion looks ok and in perfect condition,also the box has never been flashed sine i have had it about 6-8 months. do you think i need to flash it if so what software do i need and where can i get it?

You can check your version of of software by going into Menu/System information
Mine is (all working OK) API ver 4.51e_E Boot version 7.0 9th July 2007
You can get this from the De Ja Vu toolbar
