Default Sly fit in 48 hours,

Following the Sly roadshow in Wrexham last weekend, neighbour down the
road (qtr mile away) ordered the free Sky+ box, plus free fitting, just
signed for the sub £16. Put order in Friday, fitted yesterday p.m.

I noted the dish on his house, he was in the field, he told me the fitter
had installed three that day in Wrexham area, said he was paid £30 each for fitting, otherwise he had no work on Monday fitting new dishes.

Seems the golden bubble has burst.
He did comment he would prefer not to sub,but the free fitting as opposed
to freesat £80 and the giveaway +box was a decider. But after a year,he would stop the Sub(if he remembers), pity I was not there to see the install and ask the (fitter) a few questions, Oh the neighbour got the call
in the morning to say the fitter was around. The dish was new, as for the box, bet it was a refurb.

Things have slowed down abit over here in the ROI at the moment but then again it always does this time of the year.

Bet I'll still be out in gale force winds on 23rd December again

Does that mean you are a contractor to Sly? everything will slow down
now in the UK due to the cost of living and forthcoming resession.
Sky prices will be high on the dont need this list,

No m8 i don't contract for Sly but I do install satellites and aerials etc. We charge the customer for the install as we usually place the dish in places that the sky lads over here won't put them (on the roof - run cable feed in house - setup eyes - plasma install etc etc). Also they have a local contractor if any problems.

We have two nice contracting deals with local retailers.

Good long may it last for you, however I am sure those of us who were
contemplaiting change, new tv etc etc, will put this on hold, with all the utilities etc going through the roof and the bank of Eng message last night.
I recall my mortgage in 1972 was £49 a month, then it went to £149 in
1973, I am afraid those days are not far off again. B T W I do not sub to Sky,never will, but a lot around me have decided to cancel, its the car or sky. Also the offer from Sky free+box, free fitting, just sub may get a few
in, but more will leave.

Yes the dark nights need some entertainment, dark nights also bring out the vampires up here. Freesat is great, but Currys etc are conning the
people we have a superstore here in Wrexham, they wont sell a freesat box(which is illeagle) without a £80 house check by their tech guys and then another £30 to put up a dish. Yesterday I challenged them,by asking for a freesat box without the add ons, no sir was the answer,I asked what was the difference between that and a freeview box without a house check, lost for words the bloody lot of them even the manager.

See you

Bob
