Hi! im new in this furom,can anybody help me to solve my problem,i have here a new dreambox dm-500c,pls help how to use this unit!!

Hi,
The DM-500c is a cable TV receiver, is that what you intend using it for?

Or is it for satellite? In which case you have bought the wrong one.

would it be possible to put any part nor upgrade or some modification to be able to use it in FTA?,

As Robbo71 said if you wanted to use it for satellite than you have brought the wrong box as the tuner is soldered onto the unit. If you connect it to cable than you should get a few freeview channels.

hi guys well ive got a dreambox dm 500-c and i do want to use it with cable but, i got it off a mate and i need to update software on it, i have found the file i need on the toolbar but i just need to know how to do it as ive never used a dreambox before. cheers any help would be great

ok ive got the file from the big m** toolbar it is the dm 500-c 16/04/08 release. but when i go to open it i get nero burn rom so i burned the file but i dont get nuffink so then i try to mount the image on poweriso but still no good. i might be doing this all wrong guys i aint got a clue, any help in plain english would be great. oh i just noticed its got a ethernet port could i update it with the net.

ok ive sorted it now i needed the dreamup program all is good for now
