Default Connection Problems. EV > DVD Recorder > TV.

Have connected EV to Line 1 in on DVD recorder, and another scart goes from Line 3 out on the Sony DVD recorder to AV 1 on the TV.
Analogue leads are also connected.
Problem is that when I watch EV through AV 1 on the TV there is dreadful interference on screen.
It looks like co channel interference, or picture overlapping, but I don't know where it comes from.
It manifests itself as transparent bars flying across the screen from right to left.
It makes viewing from the digital box unwatchable.
Would really appreciate if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem could be.
Thanks.

Have you tried satsmo's suggestions?

Yeah, satsmo is a great man, and one of the most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure to know but, this time, the suggestions didn't seem to work.
No doubt he will have more ideas on the subject, as he is very knowledgeable in these matters, and I look forward to trying them out.
There are some great people on the site, and we are very fortunate to have their knowledge and experience at our disposal.
You yourself help a great number of people.
Thanks for reminding me of satsmo's suggestions, but I had tried them as soon as they came through.
If you come across anything else that might or might not be of help please give me the opportunity to try it out.
Thanks.

After a suggestion from satsmo I bought a heavy duty scart lead - think it cost more than my first car! - but I am delighted to say that it has eliminated most of the problem, and the little bit that remains I can live with.
Thanks satsmo!
Thanks, too, to lucky13 for his contribution.
