hi i was wondering if any one could help im going to update my FTA sat box witch has finaly died but my dish has a few dents nothing major will this matter thanks for reading

Hi,

A damaged dish in this way will cause signal problems for sure. You have to replace it

I'd give it a go first, see if you get a signal OK. The 28E satellites are so easy to pick up, the dents may not be suffiecient to cause significant problems.

How big is the dish?

cheers m8 its not bad its a few dents around the edge where it was droped thanks for the reply

If its just dents around the edge i wouldn't worry about it as its unlikely to have damaged the dishes focus

If the damage is on the face it is still worth having a go to see if its anygood

Some of the dishes i have been told to put up for the old company i worked for would have made you cringe, but nevertheless i still managed to get acceptable signal levels

I'm not mentioning the name of the old company i worked for as they still owe me money

nice one m8 i need to change the dish LNB because when it was droped it broke but wen i get a new one i will give it a go thanks for the reply people are alot nicer on this forum thanks much aprechiated

Hi, just consider if it was dropped in such a way as to wreck the LNB, could the LNB arm be misshapen and how would that affect the focus ?

im not shaw if it is broke i assumed it would be i will have to check it out

If the arm looks alright it probably is, even if its a little bit it won't matter too much, you can still pick-up a signal on the strong satellite with the LNB off focus.

For example on my dish, I have an lnb about 20cm off to one side, and still getting a huge signal on 28E.

Suck it and see what you get.

il have a go but i will have 2 w8 untin my new box arrives my old FTA box has took the nok tuner problem i think thanks 4 the reply bin a big help thank you
