Default hdmi dbox

My Box is over 3 years old and does not have an hdmi connector. Does anyone now if the new boxes at Bowlers have hdmi, reason I have just got a HD TV?

if u r talking about a dbox it's more likely to be 10yrs old and these boxes r no longer made - when they were hd wasn't available so no hdmi...think u be looking at the latest dreams....or build a vista media centre with a dvb-c card and hd thru a dvi - hdmi cable....that's what i got on my 37" toshiba 1080p....

Sounds like an interesting set up, I might look at doing that when I move in a few weeks. Have you got any info/advice on how best to set this all up? Thanks...

the set up is a media pc running one of several applications available some free from the internet eg mediaportal, dvbviewer, mytheatre etc etc. i prefer to use vista mce but have used mce 2005 in the past but vista has the nicer ui well in my opinion.

it's buying a dvb-c card which is connected most by pci eg technotrend 1500 / 1501 or in my opinion the best card a floppydtv fully compatible with vista, but expensive. and connects by firewire, the next thing is encryption either soft or hardcam....vista only supports hard cam....for this u need a common interface extension to ur card (incorporated in the floppydtv) and a cam and use a smartcard eg fun or mosc to decrypt....on a large lcd screen..true home theatre

most of the other apps allow u to use softcam decryption the same as the dbox and this software such as yankse / fenrir / vplug is available from the net , however since the keyroll mod i think there is now a problem au'ing...not too sure as i use a hardcam...

it sounds daunting but have a read thru the forum

http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/cable-on-pc.html

it gr8 having tv with a full 2 weeks epg, all ur music, dvds. avi, divx movies, photos, webcam, internet, etc etc all in 1 box .......at the touch of a button....

i use a antec fusion 430 black case with lcd....

01antecfusion.jpg

with a micro atx K9AGM3 MB...AMD3800+ CPU 2Gb ddrII ram...all with ultra quiet cooling fans...but you can compomise on ur system to make it cheaper...g**gle search "build a htpc" or something similar

ps there's some nicer looking cases around now.....
