Default To get started

Hi All,
Im looking at getting started with a TM-1500 CI Super and just wanting to find out if this would be suitable? Im living in Ireland just outside dublin and I can pick up the Astra 28 satellite. I would be hoping to be able to see as much as possible of what that sat supplies would this be possible with the box im looking at? Hope this isnt an annoyinh question. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Hi not an annoying question at all.

The Technomate 1500 is a very good receiver and many hobbyists have (or at some point had) them. However it is in a sense "wasted" on 28e alone; if all you ever want to watch is on 28e, in a sense you might be better advised to get a second hand Sky dodgy box or maybe one of the new freesat boxes.

The TM1500 will get most of the free channels on the 28e satellite but not channel 5 and its sister channels. There are newer versions of TM receivers i.e. the 3000 or 5000 series which may also now be better bets than the 1500.
