Default Pace TV Drive - V+

I am thinking of getting a Pace TV Drive.
Will I need to remove the chip to set the network ID or is there another method of setting it.

its a scientific atlanta v+ not pace. yes the chip needs to be lifted in 99% of cases but i would try the atmega net id trick first. atmega worked for me without blanking any chips it did take me a day of messing around but it worked in the end

I am in a telewest area and am able to get a telewest box if this helps. I wonder if this might help with the atmega trick.

the net id is not the main problem ...

the card must be paired or its an expensive doorstop

I am assured the card is paired. Do you think I will be able to set the net ID with an atmega card.
