Default How to get the following German/Austrian Free to Air channels?

ok so obviously I'm new to this. And another thing that you should know is that I'm not in Europe (not sure if that matters though, seeing as how I already get about 4 German channels).

The channels that I'd like to receive (all are Free to Air):
Quote:
3sat
ARD – Das Erste
ARTE
BR alpha
BR3 (Bayern 3)
hr Fernsehen (Hessen 3)
Kabel eins Austria
Kabel eins Deutschland
MDR
NDR (Nord 3)
ORF 1
ORF 2
ORF 2 Europe
PHOENIX (Test)
PREMIERE 1**
PREMIERE 2**
PREMIERE 3**
PREMIERE 4**
ProSieben Austria
ProSieben Deutschland
RBB Berlin / Brandenburg
SF 1
SF zwei
SWR (Südwest 3)
TV5 Monde Europe
WDR
ZDF
I can do channel search by satelite/frequency/etc.. but I have no idea how to get the above channels.
I do know though that most/all German free to air channels are on the Astra satellite but I'm sure that's not all that I need because I did a search and all I got is a bunch of completely irrelavant and mostly scrambled channels.

They are all on Astra 1 at 19E. You need a dish pointing at 19E and a suitable (not sky) receiver.

The Premiere channels are scrambled not FTA.

So apparently my dish isn't pointed at 19E. But what is supposed to happen when I do a Channel Search on Astra?

You need to identify where your dish is pointing at the moment.

Give us some of the channels you currently get and we will id it for you.

If your dish is lined up correctly, and you do a scan, the receiver will go through its transponder list, and populate the channel list with what it finds. You can normally select just FTA or include scrambled ones.

if you go to kingofsat, you can do a channel search for the channels you want, and it will tell you what sats they are on. By the looks of it, your list contains a number of channels that are not FTA, so it is not possible to get them FTA.
