Default Getting Connected

Hi first post! Just to introduce myself I'm 27yrs and come from Liverpool and I've been into satellite a few years now, $ky and all the patched Nagra 2 stuff like Premiere and D+ etc.

I've been lurking on these boards the last week or so trying to gather up as much info as poss before plunging in and asking any dumb ass questions!

Anyway me and my girl have just moved into a new house and have decided to give cable a whirl. We're thinking of getting a Eurovox.

My first major question is which VM services would we need to take out in order to connect the Eurovox up and receives all the channels. The less expenditure the better!

I know the £11pm deal (phone line and basic TV) would be sufficent but we also want internet aswell. We already have a BT landline, which she's reluctant to give up, and there is an offer on the VM site of broadband ONLY (no cable phoneline) for £9pm until 12/06/08.

Am I correct in thinking that the VM broadband comes down the same coax as the TV so could we subscribe to BB only @ £9pm and hook up the Eurovox and Bob's your Uncle or would we need the basic TV package just to make sure?

Also the previous occupants appear to have had Teleworst phone but no TV. There is a brown box on the outside wall and a telephone wall plate in the the living room but no TV wall plate.

I've tried hooking up a strip of coax to the brown box outside and tuning channels in on the UHF band and I can just about pick up channels 1-4 on a VERY snowy black and white picture but sound is audible. These channels come in on somewhere between UHF21-30 (ITV1 is on UHF29) I'm pretty sure these are from the street CAB but surely the feed would be too weak to power the Eurovox???

To cut all the waffle, can I just order broadband only (no TV or phone) and connect a Eurovox to the feed and receive all the channels or do I have to order at least the basic TV package aswell?
