I had the same problem. Its like how stupid can i be not to follow simple instructions.

Try this.

Setup your dbox first and then your computer for ftp.

There should be a option to Restart/active network setting in the network menu on the dbox. Click ok. Somettimes the network setting dont kick in on dbox untill you restart or use this option.

If that doent help then restart both pc and dbox after setting up the network.

You are nearly there.....

Thanks for the advice, but where can I enable this? And I think I already restarted the network, I'll try all other suggestions next time I connect the box up! Anything else you guys can think of would be grand as I can try all suggestions at once, save me setting up the dbox in this room only to take it down and do it again later

Can you (or anyone) confirm that I'm correct in using TCP/IPv4 to input the details and should I uncheck the others such as TCP/IPv6?

In my network settings I cannot find anywhere to enable/disable this but it says: "Speed: 100mb/s Full duplex", this means it's enabled right?

Aha! Thanks mate, gonna get a bite to eat then ill hook the box up... see you on the other side

Didn't work, I tried all suggestions and still get the same error... I tried testing the connection from the dbox also, I tested the connection from the dbox and my PC was reachable, so I'm beginning to think my Dad's picked up the wrong cable... >.<

I'll get a new cable soon and try again. Thanks for the help anyway guys.
