Default Sb5100i problems...

hi, ive recently acquired this modem and the problem im having is that when i tried to flash the newer firmware on to it, it didnt work so i followed the haynes guide and used the exact firmware that he said and guess what, it worked!

not the problem is that everytime i use the modem itll work for a while then itll just stop connecting to the net i,e i wont be able to browse. i have to dc it and then wait for like hours till it works again...

any help or ideas would be apreciated. the mac works perfectly as ive tried it one three diff modems.

you are not using macs from your own ubr are you?as they are no good to you.

if its going down every few mins, then u need a new mac,,as nr24103 says from a diffrent ubr

tnks for the replies guys, as i mentioned first, the mac is fine..the mac is from a diff UBR...at the moment i kept the modem connected for ages and it didnt acuire an ip address...thats the problem...it just sits there doing nothing and not letting me on to the net....stupid thing...lol..any more ideas anyone?

if the d/s isn't even locking it could be signal strengh

nah ds is fine..it gets the ip address and then just stops working..itll work for a bit but then just wont let me connect to the net even thou in the connections satus itll have the ip address and sigma will be locked....

ok guys, i really need some help here now...ive tried every thing possible..ive flashed the new firmware on to this modem and it get everything on the sigma page but the modem still shows offline..in the logs bit it says:

"DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response."

but on the main page it says done on everything elese...i really need some help here pls..

Print screen of sigma page? i always get the dhcp warning in the log and mine works fine. R u forcing a config?

ye i am trying to force it but now i dis abled the force network access and in the logs im gettinf tftp sucess and a different config to the one i want but it still doesnt connect.

how can i show you print screens?
