Wireless network - Access company ADSL connection

Hello people, how are you?

I have ADSL broadband connection on my company. I would like to have access to this ADSL connection from a nearby ranch, and if possible to its telephony line, since I don’t have phone access on this ranch.

The company is 15 meters (50 foot) lower (altitude) than the ranch, and the distance between the company and the ranch are 550 meters (0,342 miles or 1.804,462 foot) forthright (see satellite image below). We could consider 600 meters (0,373miles or 1.968,504 foot) to have no problems in range.

What can I do to solve the problem?

Hi,
I believe it is possible to extend the range of standard wi-fi devices using satellite dishes and the like, for a point to point wireless link.

I have no further details though, i just came accross a site on the net a while back.

I though something like this:

I. The ADSL signal comes to my line (plug);
II. Then I connect in it an ADSL 2+ Modem (only a modem and not those bundled modem + router + AP, and soon.);
III. In the modem I connect a router wireless N;

From here, I dont know what to do...

What you need next is a pair of antennas, preferably Directional to avoid other people attempting to access your network and to improve signal stability.

As mentioned, a Satellite dish can make a very good directional antenna, but is quite fiddly to set up.

Then all you do is connect the antennas to the WiFi cards of the computers you're using, point the "Base" directional antenna toward your destination, put up the "Receiver" antenna in the same manner, then using a free program called Network Stumbler, get the maximum signal strength you can by tweaking the antennas, then lock them in place and that as they say is that...

One person in the UK has achieved about 2KM using a home-made WiFi Cantenna, I can't remember his website address, but google will know.

As for a phone line, you could use Skype or something similar, which you can buy a landline number for people to call you and call credit to dial out to the landline & mobile networks, and of course, skype-to-skype is free. Othe rpeople may recommend another service, but Skype is all I have used so far...
