I've got a DELL Latitude D600 laptop, I am trying to connect wirelessly. There is a red cross next to the wireless computer icon in the taskbar, I have checked in the 'Device Manager' the wireless card is enabled. When i right click and select 'search available networks' nothing is found. The wireless buttons is switched on and the icon lights up but that cross just stays there. I cna connect other laptops to the wireless router but this laptop is not letting me do this.

Any suggestions??
can you help me please????

your router needs to be broadcasting its SSID for you to pick it up for the first time.

i hav checked this, the router is broadcasting it. But that red cross does not seem to change or find any wireless connection.

also try turning access control off

Have you tried connecting directly to the router with cable and setting up an internet connection then retry wireless connection

right click it then launch config utilities, then hit scan or connect, then ok away you go
