Hi Guys,
I have the above set-up and pretty much everything is ok, however the picture on fast moving objects and people has a fuzz/haze around them, I'm worried it might be a fault with the TV but was told it could be the Sky. I think I have been through every picture set-up option possible to no avail. Anyone else had this issue or know of something similar? If anyone has and info on this it would be greatly appreciated. Regards Smiffy ![]() |

I think probably you're refering to artifacts and or ghosting - these can occur when passing SD signals through to a HD or flat panel type of TV.
Most tv's will have some form of either software based of hardware image processing to lessen the result of insufficient signal or picture quality if you will... I have an old LG 42 which has a faruja (sp) chipset to aid with this sort of issue. I also have a newer samsung 32 elsewhere in the house which to my eyes deals with SD images worse than the LG. I find football to be pretty bad on SD, I think this is due to the huge contrast of colours between the grass and player shirts. And also the speed of the player movements - but I guess that depends on which team you're watching :-) Also I find flames and stuff, explosions or whatevery to be not greatly handled. Oh and also I think the samsung has a movieplus thing where it attempts to place extra images in between the exising ones - very complex and doesn't work very well - I have this turned on for tv but off for dvd's - could be as I'm upsampling the dvd's so that may be too much. Might be worth checking your setting on that?? |
