Default Mirada wins ITV, opens Italian office

Last weekend the ITV network in the UK carried Bingo Night Live. There wasn’t much pre-publicity because the game originators wanted a quiet test for the technology being deployed. The transmission was a success despite the midnight hour, and that test has resulted in a new contract.

Mirada is the London (AIM)-listed interactive media and games group which came about through the integration of YooMedia and Spanish-based Fresh. The company’s initial agreement with ITV covers the technical production and operation of Bingo Night Live, a free-to-play bingo game launching this month. The show will be broadcast live on ITV1, five nights a week from Tuesday to Saturday at midnight.

Contract terms for the ITV deal were not revealed, although Mirada says that it is expected to lead to a significant increase in revenue within the Company’s B2B gambling business this year.

“This deal reinforces Mirada’s position as one of the leaders in audio-visual gambling solutions and demonstrates the technological know-how of Mirada as the show will be broadcast live on ITV1 and allows viewers to play via the Internet,” said Mirada. “Bingo is a core product in the Mirada gaming division. The Company’s technology enables viewers to play bingo, and other games such as roulette and a full casino suite, through digital television and the Internet which are operated under the Mirada UK gambling licence.”

Jose Luis Vazquez, CEO, Mirada, said Mirada now operated a broader product range, with “improved access to intellectual capital and high value industry contacts as well as stronger financial controls.”

Mirada, with a new Italian office is already pursuing several significant new business leads in the region, and believes having a permanent base in Italy would best facilitate the winning of new business.
