Well, I finally got FTP access, it seems that with Blade quad I have to put in "ftp://dboxipaddy/../tmp/" in order to get access to the folders, but with IE, it doesn't like just /../ and throws up ablank page, so I have to got /../tmp/ then click "Up one folder" and hey presto, there's the files...

And, I found that if I put in http in place of ftp, I get all kinds of lovely controls to operate and view the Dbox via networking, which is superdooper!!!

I am doing, I've even got the VLC thing installed so am getting some TV streamed to my laptop via the WiFi router (the box is now set to use DHCP), I'm just hoping that it updates the keys before 6pm so I can watch Mythbusters on Disc.+1...

It seems that the VLC streaming causes the box to stop displaying video, so I can't seem to stream via WiFi, so I'm currently tied to the box with my USB TV card, lower quality pictures but I can see them at least, and I missed Mythbusters...

This might be due to incompatabilities with the VLC version, I'm using 8.6c ( I think ) but don't use this feature much........try googling for set up advice.

change your shortcut to read :

"C:\ProgramFiles\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --extraintf=http

I think this lets the Dbox control VLC through the web interface, but i'm no expert.

If I were you I would google PT-1s dbox helpfile - in there you will find everything you would ever wish to know about the dbox.
