dbox 2 help nedded - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

hi guys i am having real probs trying to prog my dbox when i try to put the image on the loader says wrong image for this box its doing my head in i tried lots of images with no joy i think i am out of my depth with this box is their anybody living in the cleveland area that i can bring box to to help me get this box working again please thanks in advance

You need to unrar a newly downloaded image using winrar. you then need to FTP it to your /tmp folder for flashing.

really sorry to sound stupid but i extracted image to desk top then put into loader but only progames half way then says wrong image for box i kept trying and in end i gave up.

Just download the oppisite image
If yo FTP that one
It sounds l;ike you will end up in a Kein
Try IFA 1..56................Paul

Do you have a dbox m8 ?

Dboxes dont use a ' loader '

yes thats what i have kein what is ifa 1.56 i am using a laptop with vista and serial cable and cable from router to dbox

when i put dbox on i get the kein msg on front and i have been using dbox flashing assistant to do job.

thanks for your help rodboy i tried following your easy guide and still no joy this is a very hard box to sort out to be honest i dont know what i am doing but i keep trying i think the best option for me is to try and find someone to prog box for me or talk me through it.
