Gave up trying to sort out the motor dish so phoned an installer up who said he wanted to test his new equipment and would do it cheap. He spent a couple of days and eventually I got about 4-5 satellites that I could move to. (he never charged me either, I assume cause I got so few sats)
Anyway, I powered off the receiver (tm 5400) and the next day when i powered back on it wont move the dish when I select a new sat. it should say "moving to ...." but now it just jumps to channel listings with no signal!! help... Joe. p.s. How many sats should I expect to get if installed by a professional installer. ?? Latitude: 55.846° Longitude: -4.346° |

A professional would have given you more than 4 or 5 satellite positions.
In answer to your question, this depends on if you are using DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS and what motor you have. USALS is a auto position software which will send the motor to where it thinks the satellite is. All you have to do then is scan for the channels (if installed correctly of course) DiSEqC 1.2 is a similar system but requires manual storing of satellites. These need to be saved in the motor. Your installer may of only saved a hand full. In regards to the motor not moving, I would suggest you check all cable connections first. Regards Paul ![]() |

Hi Joe,
Yaeh, check your connections first as the so called 'installer' would have had to disconnect the LNB to attach his meter. Obviously the guy you called doesn't have a f**ing clue. Also could you post a screenshot of your Motorised Settings. You should have got loads more than 5 satellites, upwards of 15 is more like it. will check the connections tonight. The thing is - I can still get one of the sats (think its the one with polsat) so does this not mean the connection is good.
will try and get screenshots as well. Cheers Joe. |

So, does the dish actually move?
The satellite you can get at the momemt is Hotbird (13E). Can you get any others? Robbo ![]() |

Is the Diseqc setting in the menus set for 1.2 or USALS (for motor control)? or has it been accidentally reset to 1.1 or less (LNB switch).

Hi, Yeah - it was the Diseqc setting that was turned off. Put it back to 1.2 then the sat moved and picked up some stations. I put the technomate to standby and on again and it dosen't save the setting (even though when I change it - i select to save it.)
The sats I can pick up are : 1.0W thor 10.e Eutelsat W1 13.e Hotbird 16.e Eutelsat 19.2 Astra1 28.2e Astra2/Eurob Its the patched technomate with a 1 mtr dish so dont really know what to expect from it. Was hoping to pick up the scottish footy when it starts up again. (any idea what sats these are on) Is there a site that can tell me what channels are on these Sats. Thanks for the help guys. Appreciate the time and effort. Joe. |

scottish football is shown on art sports and polsat both of which are on hotbird satellite, polsat is open with the patches and art sports requires a card which can be got cheap on ebay.
for details of channels and frequencies then look no further than _www.lyngsat.com
