ITV1 from Astra2 flagged as scrambled ? - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I have a Phoenix Apollo FTA, connected to a normal single-LNB minidish.
Earlier today the receiver could not display the regional ITV1 I have set at channel 3, "ITV1 Anglia W", reporting "No Information" alternating with "Scrambled Channel". The "Now" programme information OSD/Synopsis were still correct.
I did the inititial things, delete channel and transponder re-scan, also power switch off/on. No change (channel re-appeared at end of list after delete/scan).
Also displays the letters "[NDS]" in the channel parameters OSD, and after the rescan, "scrambled" in the parameter field that normally shows "FTA".

Now have time to check, and other regions ITV1 are also affected:
ITV1 TT S (10714 H VPID2366/APID2367/PcrPID2307)
ITV1 Central SW (10714 H V2307/A2309/P2307)
ITV1 Mer SE (10891 H V2348/A2346/P2348)
ITV1 Mer N (10891 H V2351/A2349/P2351)
ITV1 Yorks E (10891 H V2361/A2359/P2361)

All the other ITV1s (inc. stv and Gnn) seem fine, including obviously others on the same transponders as those listed (ie. ITV1 Anglia S on same transponder as my Anglia W).

Anyone throw any light on this please ?

Yes - they went ftv this afternoon in preparation go moving to Astra 2B 12402V 27500 2/3.

There are reports that ITV have lost one of their Astra 2D tp's because the contract has ended - if these are correct then anything on the 2B widebeam will have to go back to being ftv.

Thimngs are moving fast at the moment, so they may change again at short notice....

Won't that affect "Freesat" receivers ???

No - these regions arent on FS yet. It will break the full regionalisation big time though so they will have to go back to fta eventually - and that means moving back to 2D.

The other possibility is thats its *something* to do with either the Euro championships, or the Olympics.

I'll have to put Anglia E on channel 3 then until it's sorted. Not serious obviously the Freeview can only pick up Anglia W, Yorks S and Central E !
Just liked the choice from the complete set
