will a cas 2+ program diablo cam ?

i've been thinking for a while to get a diablo cam and not sure whether to get the cas3 or cas2+ programmer

as the title says will a cas 2+ program diablo cam ?

As this makes it cheaper to buy as i wont need to program any cards just the cam.

Is the programming of the cam straight forward as i read some cams you need to use j card and other things to program them

i've not used programmers since the days of using elvis to program gold cards for ondigital, so i'm out of touch with them.

My old Cas 2 used to program the Diablo Cam up until the latest software release, 8.4. Which caused so many problems I ended up repairing my Cas 3, damaged pins.
It still works with 8.3a but means re-setting the date on my computer.
Have you got the older Cas 2 or the newer Cas 2 + Plus, which can do everything the Cas 3 can?
Programming the Diablo with the Cas programmer is very basic, no need for a dummy card or J card, just insert the cam and run the Diablo software.

i haven't got either of them so I'm wondering which is the better buy with the diablo cam

Its the newer cas 2+ plus programmer i was thinking of getting the one on the duolabs website

That one does everything the Cas 3 can and works with the new 8.4 software, at least from what I've read.
DigiatAlb and Canal Digital changed keys early this morning and as of yet underworld 114 has not been released, which is unusual as previous updates were available before the key change.

well i've ordered a diablo cam light v2.3 and the cas2+ plus programmer and will see how i get on with it

from reading the guides on various sites, why do you need to format the cam wont overwriting the software with newer software do the same thing ?

is there anything else i will need to do once i receive it ?

Overwritng sometimes causes problems, but a few people claim they have never had to format their cam.
Just remember to load the latest Underworld file and alter the settings in the configuration menu.

my diablo cam and cas3 + arrived yesterday (i ordered the cas2+ but got sent a cas3+) and just had chance to get it working tonight

well everything is working great i installed cas studio 8.4 on my pc and the diablo cam was straight forward to program and install a key bin.

i went straight ahead and loaded the underworld 1.17 file and conax is working on 16e still

Unfortunately Digi TV and Polsat AU went down today but imputting the latest keys is easy:
Cam menu
Keys
List Keys Edit
Nagravision 2

Both Canal Digital, 1W, and DigitAlb are still opening at the moment and hopefully we will keep getting new underworld files prior to any key changes.

i never tried polsat and others as i thought the au was already down so i turned off the n2 au in the cam menu and just used a key bin last night instead.

the cam takes a few seconds to decrypt the channels but cant really complain over that unless I need to change a setting in the cam menu ?
