Ok, I've just tried installing the software again but the pc doesn't get a response from the EV1 bo....which still remains in standby mode displaying - -:- -

Yes, it's just gone into standby mode after I tried loading the software.

In standby mode, it does not even display 00:00, only - -:- -

You mentioned com ports earlier. Check its using com port 1,2,3 or 4.

Many thanks for your help.

It appears I will have to jtag my box to reset it....not sure what this means but I understand this will mean further investigation.

The COM ports and cable are fine as I updated my and another 2 bixes without issue (one box after the Eurovox 1 problem).

Anyway, thought it polite to thank you for your efforts. If you have any advice on jtagging then would appreciate!

Had a feeling we were heading towards jtag. To be honest i dont know much about it but having read about it, it does not seem to be too difficult. Try here for parts required:
