Default Confusion over modems

so right guys if u could just explain a little bit about a couple of things i cant get my head round. ive looked over loads of threads but its just not going in. i dunno what a usb mac address is and say if you force a config file does that mean u can use any mac and get the speed of the config file or do you need a fast mac to go with the fast config?

usb mac address is if ur connected through usb,hfc mac is through ethernet.u can force a modem speed through the config file"unless "ur area is using encripted configs in which case u can only use the config"speed" of the actual mac ur using.

if u run dhcp force and u click on the macs it sniffs and u dont get a config like cm-2148-256 just random gibberish u are in an encripted area.usb and ethernet macs are not the same usb is connected with a usb lead ethernet is connected with an rj45 straight through lead macs will work on both but whichever 1 ur using it is advised u make the last digit or letter 1 up like c to d or 4 to 5 on the one ur not using.changing or spoofing ur mac can b done by using smac or any other mac spoofing software.
